Terry spent several years as a design engineer on highway projects inthe UK and overseas, working for companies which included Maunsell and Ove Arup. He was a founding partner of Buro Happold in 1976 and has been responsible for a variety of multidisciplinary civil engineering and masterplanning projects, which have required a close active partnership between engineering and environmental design.

Terry founded Buro Happold’s environmental assessment team in 1989 and led the restoration, conservation and development of 120km of Wadi Hanifah and its catchment, for environmental parkland as part of the Wadi Hanifah Comprehensive Development Plan. He also guided the integrated development plan for the Lakes District of South Riyadh (which is part of the Wadi Hanifah) to regenerate the area and create a national leisure and tourism destination.

Terry’s expertise lies in engineering feasibility study and infrastructure design for wide range of coastal developments in the Middle East including Al Khiran Pearl City, Kuwait; Al Khaleej Village, Half Moon Bay; Haraidah Tourist Village, Red Sea Coast; North Obhur Waterside Development, Jeddah; and South Jeddah Waterside Development.
