Marcus worked in the public sector for more than 15 years, the last five with a County Council where he worked in the property client role and introduced a number of new initiatives including partnership working, construction frameworks and modern workstyles. He holds an MSc in Energy Engineering and before his time in local government he worked as an energy manager in the National Health Service.

Since joining Happold Consulting Marcus has supported clients in the procurement of a number of major contracts for property and construction services and carried out a range of business improvement initiatives and option studies for future service delivery.

Marcus has expert knowledge of procurement best practice, carbon reduction strategy, property asset management and the development of performance management systems that link organisational objectives to contractual obligations.
