Impact Assessment

Elected representatives and senior officers need to know that major developments will meet key local objectives and be supported enthusiastically by a wide range of stakeholders. An impact assessment that covers social, environmental and economic aspects will provide the confidence to move forward.

We work with our clients to properly define the project scope and the organisations objectives and expectations. For example, will the project assess economic, social or environmental aspects or all three? Is the aim to attract inward investment and generate employment opportunities? Is there social deprivation that needs addressing?

Our research will include relevant national, regional and local databases, reports and surveys. We will identify what is available and make proposals to address any gaps. This could include commissioning surveys, sponsoring university research or using industry and professional bodies. Where we have quantitative data, models can help predict likely future outcomes. They provide an opportunity to explore ‘what if’ scenarios, undertake sensitivity analysis, and aid risk assessment.
